Pricing

How moves between towns are priced

A move from one town to another is priced the same way as any other: by how much is going, the access at each end, and the real distance between the two addresses. Distance mainly changes which price band applies.

Parking

Why parking differs from town to town

BCP Council runs a different scheme for trades vehicles in each of its three former council areas. None of them mentions removals, so always check with the council that the scheme covers your move.

Three BCP schemes

Bournemouth: contractors dispensation, £22 for one day, applied for online at least three days before. Poole: daily waiver, £15 a day, issued by phone. Christchurch: tradesmen dispensation, £15 for the first day and £12 after, by paper form at least five working days before. A move between two of these towns can need two schemes.

Outside BCP

Wimborne and Ferndown are in the Dorset Council area, and Ringwood is in the New Forest District of Hampshire. BCP schemes do not apply at those addresses, so check with the local council for that end of the move.

Questions

Questions about the areas we cover

Which areas do you cover for removals?

We arrange removals in Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, and in Wimborne, Ferndown, West Moors, Colehill, Verwood and Ringwood. Longer moves out of the area are quoted on request.

How are moves between two towns priced?

By how much is going, the access at each end and the real distance between the two addresses. The BestBuilders 2026 guide splits typical prices into local moves under 25 miles and medium distance moves of 25 to 100 miles.

Do I need a parking permit at both ends of the move?

Possibly. BCP Council runs separate schemes for Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, and Wimborne, Ferndown and Ringwood fall under other councils. None of the BCP schemes mentions removals, so check with the council for each end that its scheme covers your move.

Is Ringwood part of the BCP area?

No. Ringwood is in Hampshire, in the New Forest District. Wimborne and Ferndown are in the Dorset Council area. BCP parking schemes do not apply in any of the three.

My area is not listed. Can you still help?
